Hello Joe, Frank, and Judy,
I was hoping you would be kind enough to pass this message on to your club members. Especially the ones who own 2009 to 2013 C6’s and 2014 to 2018 C7’s with Magnetic Ride Control.
I am Jim Mero. From 2004 to 2018, I was the Ride and Handling Development Engineer for General Motors on the Corvette. I retired in September 2018.
The purpose of this letter is to inform you that my Terri and I will be in traveling through South Carolina, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and North Carolina to upgrade Magnetic Ride Control calibrations for 2009 to 2013 C6 and 2014 to 2018 C7 Corvettes. Our initial Schedule is posted below.
I am probably better known for setting several track records for Corvette on the Nürburgring Race Circuit in Germany as well as Virginia International Raceway. A simple search of myself on YouTube will provide in-car videos of many of these track records.
If you don’t mind, I’ll give you the cliff notes version of the short history behind the C6 calibrations. Before my retirement from General Motors on the Corvette, in 2017 and 2018, I developed a revised tuning philosophy for Magnetic Ride Control and implemented it in every 2019 C7 Corvette. Those calibrations were so successful, we decided to make them available to anyone who owned a C7 back to the 2014 models. Those cars were updated at the dealership.
After I retired, I thought to myself “what about the C6 owners”. “What if I used the same philosophy to update the C6 calibrations”. So I did it and I am pleased that the improvements the C6 owners are experiencing are as good as the C7 owners realized.
In 2019 I started Jim Mero Vehicle Dynamics LLC with the sole purpose of providing the Magnetic Ride Control upgrades for 2009 to 2013 C6 Corvettes. To date we have upgraded almost 1,ooo cars. The calibrations include a full reimbursement, and we are humbled that we have not had one car come back.
These upgrades will vastly improve both the ride and the handling of 2009 - 2013 Corvettes. The calibrations will be significantly smoother over rough roads, yet handle better in the curves.
Also, the calibrations are transparent to the car. No other modules, electrical communications, or systems are affected.
I also am offering C7 owners who have had difficulties getting their cars upgraded by the dealerships. The dealership’s understanding and having the ability to upgrade has been lackluster at best.
I invite you and your members to visit my website jimmero.com to view the options available for each model Corvette, and more importantly, view testimonials from Corvette owners who have received the upgrade. To date we have not included the C7 option on the website because it was very recent that we obtained the ability to perform the upgrades.

While I am in the area, members of your club who may nor may not be aware of the upgrades might want to take advantage of the programming. I can assure you, they will feel like they got a 2024 car.
The programming is performed through the OBD2 port and takes a few minutes.
